The boarding houses at Assumption College feature considered design – built to provide community atmosphere and support a bespoke boarding experience.
All three houses are found on the northwest section of the campus, beyond the famed Ray Carroll Oval. This purposed positioning establishes a sense of distance between school day activities and boarding life.
The short walk to and from school creates a sense of departure and homecoming each day – one of many small details identified as we began to craft the best boarding experience possible.
Each house is home to 24 boarders and corresponding boarding staff. Every boarder gets their own room, a private place for study and respite. This personal space is complemented by communal areas that encourage communication and enjoyment with boarding peers.
An outdoor space, common to all three houses, features a traditional brick pizza oven for boarding barbecues and fun gatherings.
