Touch Footy March 2020

Touch Footy on the Rise at Assumption College

Assumption College Touch Footy 2019/20

In an exciting AGSV 2019/20 Touch Footy competition, the Assumption College Inter B Girls side continued to build their inaugural 2018/19 season, finishing with two strong wins, an edge-of-the-seat draw and four narrow defeats.

Strong leadership was shown throughout the season by Eloise Le Deux, Bel Luscott, Chloe Taylor, Charlotte Brundell and Rylie Nauta – who all took the role of captain at various times and led from the middle, with rock solid defence, speed to burn and outstanding ball skills.

Brooke Short and Lindsay Chalker saved countless tries with their defensive talent and had the ball moving forward in attack with strong rucking and driving.

Newcomers Georgia Knight, Piper Sullivan, Samantha Lightfoot, Jade Withoos and Ashlen Zahra all took to their new sport with ease, quickly learning the intricacies of the game and making impressive contributions to both defense and attack.

The side benefited from the skills and experience of both, AFL Victoria representative Jade Withoos and athletics talent Eloise Le Deux, who has been achieving strong results in Victorian state track events the past few weeks. The ACK Touch Footy crew continues to wish both athletes well.

The ACK Touch Footy family also welcomed the new year 7 junior squad this term who have picked up the new sport with ease and excitement under the careful guidance of Luke Hamilton.
