Getting Here

Getting to Assumption College is simple and convenient. Our campus is easily accessible by car via the Hume Freeway, with a drive of 60–70 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD or just 20–30 minutes from the northern suburbs. Public transport options include regular train and bus services to Kilmore, with a short walk from the town centre to the campus.

By Car

Assumption College is highly accessible for families travelling from Melbourne or regional Victoria.

From Melbourne (Northern Suburbs):

  • Take the Hume Freeway (M31) northbound.
    Exit at Beveridge / Wallan / Kilmore.
  • Continue along the Northern Highway (B75) towards Kilmore.
  • Turn onto College Street, where the main entrance to Assumption College is located.

Estimated travel time:

  • 20–30 minutes from suburbs such as Craigieburn, Mickleham, Kalkello, Donnybrook and Epping.
  • 60–70 minutes from the Melbourne CBD.

From Regional Victoria:

  • Kilmore is centrally located for students travelling from Wallan, Beveridge, Wandong, Broadford, Seymour, Nagambie, Lancefield, Romsey, and surrounding townships.
  • Follow the Northern Highway (B75) or the Hume Freeway depending on your starting point.

Parking is available on-site and on the street for families, visitors and event attendees.

By Train

Assumption College is serviced by the V/Line Seymour Line, stopping at Kilmore East Station.

Travel details:

  • Approximately 55 minutes from Southern Cross Station to Kilmore East.
  • Regular services operate seven days a week.

From Kilmore East Station:

  • A short 5–7 minute drive or
  • Local bus services operate between the station and Kilmore township.
  • Taxis and rideshare services are also available.

By Bus

A number of public and private bus routes connect Kilmore to surrounding suburbs and regional towns.

Common routes include:

  • Seymour – Kilmore – Broadford services
  • Wallan – Kilmore routes
  • Local town buses connecting Kilmore East Station with central Kilmore and the College precinct

Many students also access the College via dedicated school bus services operating across the Mitchell Shire and neighbouring regions.

By Foot

The College is located a short 10-15 minute walk from the Kilmore town centre. Students and families can enjoy safe walking paths connecting Sutherland Street with nearby dining, shops, and community facilities.
