Frequently Asked Questions

Does Assumption College offer both boys’ and girls’ boarding?

Absolutely! Assumption College has been a co-educational boarding school since 1995, allowing families to keep both sons and daughters together in one location. Our residences feature shared communal spaces while maintaining gender-specific areas to ensure comfort and privacy.

Can students board at all year levels?

Yes! We welcome boarders from Year 7 through to Year 12, with programs tailored to meet the unique needs of junior, middle, and senior students. Whether your child is just starting high school or preparing for their final years, our boarding program is designed to support their growth and success.

Do students need to be Baptised Catholic to attend?

While we proudly serve our local Catholic families, Assumption College is guided by faith and inclusivity. We warmly welcome applications from students of all backgrounds who value a values-driven Catholic education.

Please note: If applications exceed available places, our enrolment policy will determine priority.

Are siblings or alumni family members given priority?

We honour the time-honoured tradition of family connections at Assumption College. At the discretion of the Principal, priority may be given to:

  • Siblings of current students
  • Children of alumni, staff, or those affiliated with the Marist community

For more details, refer to our enrolment policy.

Is an enrolment interview required?

Yes! Every applicant is invited to an enrolment interview with our College Leaders. This is a chance for us to get to know your child and family, and for you to learn more about our community.

Interviews are held in September, with virtual options available for families at a distance.

Can we tour the College and boarding facilities?

Of course! We encourage families to visit and see if Assumption College is the right fit. Our tours provide a chance to explore the facilities, meet staff, and ask questions—all while respecting the privacy of our boarders and minimising disruptions to classes.
