At Assumption College, we take pride in providing a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment for our boarding students. Our boutique boarding houses are thoughtfully designed offering comfort, privacy, and a sense of community. With modern facilities, dedicated staff, and a focus on fostering connection, our boarding program ensures that every student feels valued and supported.

Three Houses That Feel Like Home

Our three boutique boarding houses—Mannes House, O’Connor House, and Redden House—are freshly decorated and designed to create a home-away-from-home for both boys and girls. Each house accommodates 24 boarders, providing a cozy, family-style environment where students can thrive.

Access to each boarding house is secure, requiring students to scan their ID cards for entry. Residential staff are located at the front of each house, offering round-the-clock support and security. We place great value on our live-in staff, who play a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing environment for our boarding students.

Private Single Bedrooms

Every boarding student, from Years 7 to 12, enjoys the comfort and privacy of their own single bedroom. These rooms are designed to provide a personal retreat for study and relaxation, featuring:

  • A king single bed for restful sleep.
  • A study desk to support academic focus.
  • Generous wardrobe storage for personal belongings.

This private space allows students to recharge and maintain a sense of independence while being part of a close-knit community.

Recreation & Communal Living

Shared spaces within the boarding houses are designed to foster connection and a sense of togetherness. Each house features:

  • A kitchen and dining room for shared meals and snacks.
  • Recreation areas with table tennis, air hockey, and televisions for relaxation and bonding.
  • Modern communal bathrooms that balance privacy with convenience.
  • Wi-Fi access to support both study and leisure activities.
  • Outdoor spaces add to the charm of boarding life, with areas for ball sports and a traditional brick pizza oven that’s perfect for gatherings. These spaces encourage students to connect, unwind, and create lasting memories with their peers.

Access to School Facilities

Boarders have the privilege of accessing Assumption College’s state-of-the-art facilities after school hours, including:

  • Carroll Oval for sports and outdoor activities.
  • Down Ball Courts for friendly competitions.
  • Shandon Oval Cricket Nets for cricket practice.
  • High-Performance Fitness Centre Gym for workouts and training.

Senior students also have access to the Fourviere Centre after school hours and on weekends, with permission, providing additional spaces for study and recreation.

Coeducational Living

As a coeducational boarding facility, Assumption College offers families the convenience of keeping both sons and daughters together in one location. While the houses are designed to foster a sense of community, there are clearly defined and restricted areas for male and female boarders to ensure privacy and comfort for all students.

Laundry Facilities

Our boarding program includes convenient laundry services to make life easier for students and their families.

  • Junior Students: Laundry is collected from the house foyer before 8:00 AM on designated days (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) and returned after school.
  • Senior Students: Each house has in-house laundry facilities for senior students to use independently, as well as for emergency needs.
  • Onsite Laundry: Open until 4:00 PM on laundry days, ensuring all students have access to clean and fresh clothing.
