At Assumption College, we believe in creating authentic pathways for students to pursue their personal passions. We believe that education extends beyond the classroom; real-world hands-on experiences are essential for developing confident, competent individuals.
Through partnerships with leading sports, cultural and academic organisations, our innovative curriculum and co-curricular activities offer real-world industry experiences and unique opportunities that prepare students for life and success beyond high school. High Performance Sports: AFL, Basketball, Cricket, Netball and Soccer
Through our partnerships established with leading sporting organisations, our students benefit from access to specialist resources such as Coach Education, online learning modules, and immersive experiences including stadium and head office tours, guest coaching sessions, onsite training, and meet-and-greets with elite athletes and industry professionals. These experiences help students develop the skills and knowledge to support future educational and career pathways in sport and related fields.

Why Choose High Performance Sports at Assumption College?
High-Performance Sports classes are conducted similarly to a typical physical education class; however, the material is highly tailored to each sport. Our specialised sports classes are not just designed for those with aspirations to become professional athletes, but also for those interested in broad-reaching sporting careers such as sports medicine, exercise physiology, sports marketing, teaching, and coaching.
Approximately 70% of class time for High-Performance Sports subjects is allocated to practical active participation, with the balance allocated to classroom theory. Practical lessons operate like a typical sporting club training session and include strength and conditioning. Classroom theory covers topics such as sports psychology, analysis, nutrition and recovery.
High-Performance Sports classes are offered to students from Year 8 through to Year 10, and participation is optional through students’ subject selection process.
