Our staff are expected to support the Catholic and Marist ethos of our college. Teachers should also use ICT competently and be prepared to take part in our co-curricular activities.

Child Protection Requirements

It is our policy that all applicants for child-connected work at Assumption College are informed about the requirements and the College’s child safeguarding practices before working here.

All applicants must read and understand the college’s Child Protection Program, including: Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct, Staff and Student Professional Boundaries. It is our policy that all new staff and members of the Council undergo additional screening to meet Child Protection requirements including:

  • Working with children check clearance
  • Relevant qualifications and registrations including VIT
  • Personal identity verification and background check for Child-connected work
  • Reference check will address the person's suitability for the working with children check.
